We are using ECC and are mainly using IM (versus WM) for our transactions. Our sites will have multiple storage locations which will represent a warehouse row, pallet space or rack space. We are performing our Batch determination in SD. We have some customer requirements where they have a limit on the number of batches that can be shipped. If we maintain in the batch search strategy the maximum number, this causes a problem because if the batches are spread across multiple storage locations then it stops when it reaches the number based on the batch/storage location combinations. This requires manual intervention on each delivery. Since the field in the batch search strategy is based on batch splits and not actual number of batches it does not work in this situation. Since we are not using WM has anybody come across this before and developed a way to manipulate batch determination? Is WM the answer? If so, then how do we handle this at a customer level?
Appreciate any feedback.
